Dr. Joel Whiteman grew up in the San Fernando Valley just north of Los Angeles.  He attended UCLA and received a Bachelors degree in molecular biology and continued on to UCLA School of Dentistry where he received awards in Prosthodontics, Periodontics and Community Service.  Following graduation, Dr. Joel received additional training in general dentistry at the Veterans Administration Abulatory Care Center in southern California.  While at the VA hospital, Dr. Joel gained experience in treating many patients and a wide variety of complex cases including cosmetics and implants.  In addition, Dr. Joel was able to learn many techniques to help people who are fearful and anxious.

Dr. Kristy Whiteman is a native Sacramentan – born and raised in Sacramento’s Greenhaven/Pocket neighborhood.  Dr. Kristy stayed in the Sacramento Valley for college, attending UC Davis and double majoring in biological sciences and psychology.  She then attended UCLA School of Dentistry where she received awards from the American College of Dentists and the Dental Foundation of California.  Dr. Kristy’s gentle technique endears her to the children and adults that come to see her.

Dr. Joel and Dr. Kristy met and married while in dental school.  They moved to Sacramento after finishing school to be closer to Dr. Kristy’s family.  In their spare time they enjoy cooking and sharing the company of friends and family.

Dr. Joel and Dr. Kristy are members of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and the Sacramento District Dental Society.
